P.E. Premium Statement

The Government provides funding to schools to provide new, substantial primary school sport funding. This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best way of using the money.

Funding is used to:

• Support ALL children and young people to live healthy, active lives.
• Make participation in PE and school sport easier
• Make sure all children can achieve and thrive through increased physical activity and sport, no matter their background or ability.
• Improve children's health, wellbeing, personal development and academic attainment.
• Embed the foundations of positive and enjoyable participation in regular physical activity.
