Hello Yellow

On 9/10/23 we all wore yellow to school to help raise awareness of the need to stay mentally and physically well. There are lots of tools and resources available to us to help with this and Reflexions came and delivered an assembly all about the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.

As a school we raised over £147 for the charity Young Minds who have a Parent Help Line which is a valuable resource for families.  Thanks to you all for your generosity.

Nursery

In Nursery we all wore yellow.  We talked about our feelings and thought about things that make us happy.  Lots of the children shared how being with their family makes them feel happy.  We spent some time relaxing and calming our bodies by breathing in through our noses and out through our mouths.  We lay down and listened to relaxing music and watched as bubbles floated to the ground.

Year 1

Year 2

In Year 2 we have been thinking about what makes us happy.

Year 3-

Today, we spent some time reflecting on how we can look after ourselves and how to support others who may be struggling with their emotions. We created posters to display around the classroom to remind us of these helpful tricks to make us feel good!

Our class also came together outside of school to do some fundraising. They collected together old clothes, shoes and toys and sold them. They then donated this money to the Hello Yellow charity. Well done to all involved, we are very proud of you!

Year 6

During Hello Yellow day, we enjoyed an assembly about our well-being. We learnt strategies to help boost our mood. We then used this to help create a poster to help us when we need our mood lifting.
