Science Week 8th-12th March

This week we have been very busy taking part in different science activities across the school.  We hope you enjoy seeing and hearing what we have been up to!

Reception

We have been looking at using different materials to make Little Red Riding hood's basket to carry her cookies to Grandma! We talked about which was strongest and which would last longer.

We also carried out some experiments outside. We created exploding potions mixing bicarbonate of soda with vinegar to make mini volcano potions!

Year 5

We have been looking at classification webs and creating our own to sort animals into groups.

Take a look at some of our amazing work!

Year 1

In Year 1 we have been looking at the human body. We used our friends as templates to draw and label the human body and then created our own 'Super Humans' by connecting body parts of different people.

Scroll to see what we got up to!

Year 3

Year 3 have enjoyed observing seeds and bulbs and even had a go at planting our own seeds! We looked closely at a range of seeds and bulbs and created our own observation drawings. We are looking forward to helping our plants grow and watching them turn into seedlings. See what we have been up to below!

Year 6

We were describing and comparing lifecycles of amphibians, mammals, insects and birds. Firstly, we created a visual presentation which we then presented to the class. See our pictures below!

Nursery

Nursery have been very busy using their senses to explore both indoors and outdoors!
